When a Fargo Printer displays "Waiting for Data" after being sent a print job there are a number of things that seem to be effective.
Check the Length of the USB Cord. If it is longer than 6 feet there can be data transmission errors. If this is the case REPLACE USB CABLE.
Check the User Permissions of the Fargo. Remote into the workstation and right click on the Fargo icon in the Printers and faxes window. Select Properties and then Security. On the Security Tab select Workstation Name/Users and ensure that manage printer and manage documents are checked.
In at least one instance replacing the ribbon cartridge has fixed the issue.
